Your photography business shouldn’t be tied to where you’re located.
It’s so easy to think as a wedding photographer, your referrals and reputation are connected to where you’re located and if you move to a new city or state, you need to start from scratch.
When you know how to market yourself, you can move or shoot anywhere in the world you want without needing to reestablish yourself.
When Meg, a documentary photographer based in Fort Collins, Colorado, first joined the Wedding Atelier in August 2023, she was moving from Nebraska to Colorado. She had a few weddings booked back in Nebraska for 2024, but nothing for Colorado.
She was in such a scarcity mindset, only charging about $3,000 per wedding and even charging that much felt like a stretch for her because she felt she couldn’t afford to lose any potential client that inquired.
She started by redefining who she was as a photographer, who she serves, what her work represents and she realigned her website and marketing to portray that.
That gave her more confidence in her packages and charging more and soon enough, that started attracting dream clients.
She used the Sales Call Script to better understand her clients’ needs and pitch the right package for them without fumbling over the pricing or undercharging just to avoid losing the client.
She also attended calls to receive mindset coaching and work through the scarcity she was feeling so she could stop undercharging and burning out by taking on too many weddings.
Her average 2024 wedding was $4,500, up $1,500 from the year before and was able to book 11 weddings despite moving states, closing 2024 at $127,025 in sales.
As she started booking 2025 weddings, she focused on increasing that price again, and her 2025 bookings are already averaging $6,000, double the rate she was charging when she joined and she’s booked 17 weddings for 2025, bringing in 6-figures in bookings for the year.
The most surprising thing for Meg was that a couple came onto the call saying they had a budget of $4,000 but they ended up signing for $6,350.
Once she learned how to confidently articulate the value she could offer couples on sales calls, she learned to trust that the right clients would be more than willing to pay her prices and she no longer had to undercharge out of fear no one would book with her.
The Sales Call Script was such a game changer for her she said, “I would pay the whole program price just for the Sales Call Script.”
